New Visions for Arctic Marine Navigation
A new report shows scenarios for the Arctic Marine Navigation in the future
The climate changes can change the marine navigation in the Arctic dramatically in the future.
The AMSA Study under the Arctic Council working group PAME has newly published a report on the different scenarios for the future in marine navigation in the Arctic.
The programme for the Protection of the Arctic Marine Environment (PAME) is one of the six programmes of the Arctic Council. PAME was established by the Arctic Council Ministers in Nuuk, Greenland, September 1993 with the mandate to address policy and non-emergency pollution prevention and control measures related to the protection of the Arctic marine environment from both land and sea-based activities. These includes coordinated action programmes and guidelines complementing existing legal arrangements.
