Ministerial Meeting in Tromsø a success
A ministrial meeting is more than politics. Tromsø was the perfect frame for the meeting.
It was not only on the political level the Arctic Council Meeting in Tromsø was a success. Also on the practical level the participants were satisfied.
The Rica Ishavshotel was a wellchosen frame for the meeting and the staff there provided lots of good food for the participants. Many of the more than 300 delegates had to stay on other hotels - and they were also satisfied.
In addition the logistics worked. The fereign ministers arrived as planned in Tromsø airport and were transported to Rica escrted by the local police. Also the weather was with the delegates. A little rain on the first day and sunny weather on the second day.
The Ministerial Meeting was held back to back with the Melting Ice conference hosted by former US vicepresident Al Gore and the Norwegian minister of foreign Affairs Jonas Gahr Støre.
