The Arctic Rescue Project intends to promote interaction between the rescue services of eight Arctic countries. The systems and processes developed will address all the stages of emergencies: monitoring, forecasting, prevention, response, providing humanitarian aid to the affected persons and post-crisis rehabilitation and renovation.
The proposal for this work was submitted to Senior Arctic Officials in 2003–a background document is available here.
Proceedings of the International Conference, which was held in Moscow on February 27-28, 2006, were published in the brochure “Concept of the System on Prevention and Mitigation of Emergency Situations in the Arctic” (“Arctic Rescue”) in two languages (English and Russian). This brochure is placed here in the same form as it was published. If you need the English version, please, print only even pages. To get the Russian version, please, print odd pages.
