Environmental chemistry is considered today as an important interdisciplinary research area within the complex field of environmental sciences. The planned meeting is ment to create and enhance strong expert co-operation networks among environmental scientists within the Nordic countries. The conference series was originally initiated a decade ago as bi-national Norwegian-Swedish co-operation. However, from 2010 the meeting is also addressing environmental chemistry research conducted primarily in the Nordic countries but also worldwide.
