"Our Arctic Birds" event in Kuujjuaq, Canada 6 March 2014BiodiversityCanadaConservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna On February 12, the Arctic Council’s Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna Working Group (CAFF) hosted “Our Arctic Birds”, a community event at the Kattitavik Town Hall in Kuujjuaq, Canada. Representatives of CAFF met with Kuujjuaq residents to talk about the Arctic Council and how it is working to conserve Arctic Birds through initiatives such as the Arctic Migratory Birds Initiative. In addition, “People of a Feather” – an award-winning movie about the birds and people of the Belcher Islands – was shown, and Arctic foods, such as home-made tea and bannock were on offer. The public event was hosted on the margins of the CAFF Management board meeting, held February 10-12, 2014 in Kuujjuaq.
